Owner Jason Reis helps facilitate LI NY's first Coworking Jelly
August, 07, 2010   |  0 COMMENTS  |
As an entrepreneur who often works in isolation within my own home or a local starbucks I was very much interested when I first heard about this concept called Coworking. I was also a bit disappointed when I learned the closest Coworking facilities being about a 1.5 hour drive away. I realized if I wanted to enjoy the benefits of working out of a coworking facility I would have to organize one here on Long Island NY myself, and that is just what I did!

On Friday Aug 6th 2010 Long Island finally received its first Coworking group which is organized as what many have started to call a Jelly. A Jelly is group that have come to work together. Although each member works on their own projects the environment is very social.

I was luck enough to find people who share my passion for this type of work environment and desire to create one here on the Island. Through their help we have also received some media attention;

Owner Jason Reis shares experiences with local high school students

When it comes to speaking at events, and giving out advice, Flehx is the first to volunteer. We feel that sharing our knowledge with those who are eager to start their own business not only helps them, but in a sense, helps Flehx Corp as well. Establishing trust and connections early on is the key to success in every business especially new startup ventures.

Jason Reis speaking at CitiField Aug 2010 Jason Reis (seen right), had the chance to speak to dozens of students at Citi Field Queens NY, this past July 30th. It was both an awesome, and powerful speech as students leaned forward to catch notes and worthy advice. Jason spoke about how important it is to understand basic business concepts, along with the importance of making financially sound decisions. Just as he did with Flehx Corp, he told the students that they can accomplish anything, even as a small business.

Flehx started on ideas and passion, which quickly evolved into a thing of the future. Giving new-comers the advice and tools they need to get started, it was no surprise that the Students walked away with more than a few good words of encouragement. They left that night with visions and a solid understanding of what it meant to be an entrepreneur and to stick to something they truly believed in.

Flehx CEO Jason Reis takes part in NY Startup Weekend 2010

Being a serial entrepreneur I love the thrill of starting a new company and if I don't have a great idea for a new company the next best thing is to help someone else launch their dream company.

Jason Reis with ProphetMargin Team June 2010 This is what I was doing at the NYC Startup Weekend that took place at NYU June 11-13th 2010. It was my first time attending such an event and I have to say it was a lot of fun, interacting with all these aspiring business owners.

My involvement in such an event like this (although I was their representing a different company and not soliciting customers for Flehx). I realized this is what makes Flehx such a unique company and will be my mission for the coming year. We are going to make a commitment to not only help our current client base further grow their own business. We are also going to set out on a mission to help aspiring entrepreneurs launch their new ventures. Regardless if they are non IT related companies or even if they are aspiring hosting company owners we want to reach out and provide support to the young generation of entrepreneurs.

With that being said I invite any one who is looking to or currently launching their own company to join a great organization I happen to be the CTO for known as http://www.NoizIvy.org . The organization is a great not for profit tax exempt entity that supports entrepreneurs around the country.
